NBA G League basketball is coming to Place Bell!

The Long Island Nets, the NBA G League Affiliate team of the Brooklyn Nets, will play a series of six home games at Place Bell in Laval during the upcoming season.

During the first two games, on January 24 and 26, 2025, they will face the Raptors 905, the official affiliate of the Toronto Raptors. In February, they will face the Greensboro Swarm, the Charlotte Hornets' affiliate on February 5, before taking on the Delaware Blue Coats (Philadelphia 76ers) on February 8. Finally, they will take on the Memphis Hustle, the NBA G League affiliate of the Memphis Grizzlies, on March 13 and 14.

To celebrate the local market, the team will play under the alternate identity of "Les Nets" with a customized logo and uniform.

What is the NBA G League?

The NBA G League is the official development league of the NBA. Established in 2001, the league is composed of 29 teams affiliated with NBA franchises. The NBA G League provides players with the opportunity to develop and progress in their professional careers, while offering fans access to high-quality games and talented players.

The league offers elite professional basketball at an affordable price in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere. NBA G League Ignite also plays against G League competition. There will be 31 NBA G League teams in the 2024-25 season, 30 of which are affiliated with an NBA team.

In 2021-22, the New Orleans Pelicans debuted the Birmingham Squadron in Birmingham, Ala., while the Detroit Pistons debuted the Motor City Cruise in Detroit, Mich. The Denver Nuggets’ hybrid affiliation with the Grand Rapids Drive began with the 2021-22 season, and Mexico City Capitanes made their G League debut in 2021-22. The 2022-23 season saw the Agua Caliente Clippers rename their franchise the Ontario Clippers, while G League Ignite revealed an updated logo as part of a visual rebrand. In 2023-24, the Lakeland Magic will rename their franchise the Osceola Magic, the Fort Wayne Mad Ants will rename their franchise the Indiana Mad Ants, and the Portland Trail Blazers will debut their G League affiliate, the Rip City Remix. In 2024-25, the Ontario Clippers will relocate and rename their franchise the San Diego Clippers and the Phoenix Suns will debut their G League affiliate, the Valley Suns.
